Description: Recent activity from immigration enforcement and ICE in our communities has increased significantly over the past few weeks. It is important now more than ever that we stay informed and keep each other safe, especially with the fall break around the corner. The international and immigrant workers working group is organizing a training for stewards in which you can learn more about how to respond to immigration enforcement, build safety networks for you and your peers prior to travelling, and spread the word to your peers. The training is in-person on Friday, November 7th from 12-1 in the NUGW Office (708 Church St Suite 234, Evanston), and over zoom on Monday, November 10th from 5-6. Please RSVP to the training here. After the all-stewards training, stewards will have the ability to train coworkers in their respective departments and will be given materials to do so. With folks travelling for fall break, this knowledge will be very important, especially for international and immigrant workers. The meeting is open to anyone and everyone, so please rsvp and bring your friends!
